Trina Turk for Banana Republic Loot

Some of the Banana Republic stores hosted an after 5 event to celebrate the launch of their Trina Turk collaboration where people got to shop for the looks as well as enjoy some delicious refreshments.  The collection of brightly coloured, resort-inspired pieces includes a very good selection of petite sizing, including tops, skirts (well, skirt – the zebra print seen over at Alterations Needed), dresses, swimwear and accessories. Though I made my major purchase earlier that day – actually online at around midnight (yeah, I know…), I still stopped by, just to take a look at the accessories.  Being petite, I always want to look at them in person before purchasing( the little that I wear, anyway – I’ve always felt that jewellery overwhelmed my frame). So what did I end up getting?  Just two pieces – the Pisces top in the cool com (I don’t seem to see this on the US site), size 00P and a pair of earrings.

I really wanted the patio dress, but I’ve only bared my shoulders once in my life and it just made me feel…naked.  So yeah, it was a no go.  Besides, it just didn’t look good on me from chest up (nor does it look that great on the model, anyway).  I also bought a dress online earlier in the day, which I just got shipping confirmation for.   I think it’s going to be here by Monday.

There were also some light refreshments served at the event, including chips and mini-brownies (above), courtesy of Elle Catering.

Did you buy anything from this collection?  What are your thoughts?  Any favourites?

Outfit pics coming soon!

I’m loving this collection, but I am waiting for a sale before I actually buy anything.

Right now I have my eye on the botanical top and the swirl tunic dress.
